Dr. William Wilcox is conducting a research study, “Pulmonary Disease and Exercise Tolerance in Boys with Fabry Disease” at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. The purpose of this study is to determine the frequency and severity of lung disease and exercise intolerance in boys with Fabry disease, ages 8 to 18 years of age, who have not been treated with Fabrazyme.  This study consists of pulmonary function tests and a treadmill exercise test.  We hope that the information from this study will allow us to understand Fabry disease better in children and provide information that may be useful in deciding when to start enzyme replacement therapy.

Study associated travel expenses are covered for the study participant and one parent to facilitate participation from anywhere in the continental US.
